Great little place. The wine list is fantastic, lots of great beers on tap and brilliant service. The food was a bit overseasoned for my tastes (probably to get you to drink more - I did that as a pub chef) but it was pretty decent anyway.

I’d heard this place did a good Guinness so came to check it out. For $17 I expected it to be good and it did not disappoint. A fantastic pint and very friendly staff. Can’t comment on the food as I only came here for a Guinness.
Found an amazing place to have our dinner tonight. It was fantastic, great foods, best British beer, great service and fabulous environment. Highly recommended. 👍
Great English pub in the heart of Melbourne with one of the best selections of British ales and lagers in Melbourne. Can definitely recommend the curry of the day also!
Great food provided by fantastic service. The staff were exceptional, attentive and friendly. Made for a very enjoyable experience while visiting from Adelaide.
Nice pub (downstairs) for lunch - great food options, especially the Vegan Cottage Pie and the Steak & Guinness Pie (with mash). Service was good as well..
Great food, the menu contains a great array of options, and the specials menu were all super tempting. Staff were great, super helpful and efficient. This is a great little place for a classic pub feed with a nice cold beer, in the middle of town. Will be returning for sure.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Vegan cottage pie was excellent. Full range of great meals for all dietary requirements from vegan to gluen free. Other patrons ordered steak, bangers and mash and curry and they loved it. Beers on tap, especially Guinness was superb.
Walked in on a Thursday evening. It was packed! High energy atmosphere as soon as you walk down the stairs to a very pub feel. Could not locate a someone from the service team. All tables seemed to be full and service team were very busy.
If you want taste on youre plate then come here, the warm welcome you recieve upon entry, I asked for a beer wich was down stairs and the bar tender was more then welcome to head down stairs and bring me back the beer I desired.
I ordered the bubble and squeak fritters, the scotched eggs and a sausage now this was 3 separate meals however the kitchen was more then happy to pop it all on one plate.
From the first bite into the fritter my eyes lit up with joy. The flavour explosion was incredible. I then moved onto the eggs, now I have never had a scotched egg before but something about them wrapped in pork mince and crumbs caught my eye. Eggs where perfect nice an soft and the second flavour bomb hit me . I looked at the waitress an nodded my head , the 3rd , the sausage , looks like an average sausage until bam 3rd flavour bomb. I couldn't believe the party that was going on on my tastes buds.
Then came the gravy I thought to myself no surely its just the typical pub gravy nope wrong again after seeing the velvet skim on top of the gravy and dipping in each part I ordered was the icing on the cake. Not to thick, not to over the top where you think you need 3 litres of water after , just a nice balance to compliment all 3 dishes. Definitely in my top 10 meals I've ever had.
Next time visiting Melbourne this will be my first stop to start my journey again.

What a brilliant pub, the food was lovely, the Tetley's beer was fantastic as was the atmosphere but you may have to cue which for us Brits is not a problem.
Luv this pub. Used to go there in the '80s when it was on St Kilda rd and followed it to it's current dig. Had not been in for a while but love the Atmosphere which can transport you back to Ol' Blighty😍 great beers and food, friendly staff😍
What an unexpected surprise! Christmas in July meal was superb. I had roast turkey with all the trimmings even yorkie! Will I be back, you bet I’m counting the days for my next visit.
Fantastic pub and eatery. Very accomodating and friendly, made our family feel very welcome and relaxed. Food was excellent, beer variety was great, could have stayed all day whilst the weather outside was wide. Would highly recommend, and we’ll be back.
Good job I didn’t know about this place when I lived in Melbourne back in 2012 for 5 years, would have been my local for sure
